Structural Engineering

Structural engineering refers to the structural design of a building that ensures that it stands up safely, and is able to function without excessive movement causing fatigue to structural elements: cracking; or causing fixture, fittings or partition failure; or discomfort to your building's occupants.

Structural engineers must account for building movements and forces in relation to temperature, creep, or imposed loads. Structural designs must also be buildable within acceptable manufacturing tolerances of building materials and allow architecture to work.

Structural engineering must also allocate space for building services—such as air conditioning, ventilation, electrical fixtures and lighting, etc. — to fit and function.

Kleinfeldt employs Structural Engineers specializing in the following branches of Structural Engineering:

  • Building Restoration
  • Parking Garage Rehabilitation
  • Balcony Slab Rehabilitation
  • Fire Damage Assessment
  • Façade Engineering

At Kleinfeldt, we believe in cost-effective solutions that cater to the bottom line, but we also believe aesthetics originate from structural engineers, not just architects. We amalgamate function, aesthetic appeal, principles of physics, and current construction technologies into our synergistic mix, while never losing sight of our mission to provide high-level products and services at a fair price.

Whether your building is pre-existing or new, Kleinfeldt is experienced and ready to tackle your job. KCL works with owners or contractors to evaluate projects per original and current building codes and standards, and when structural problems are discovered, KCL presents economical solutions.
