Rack Load Testing

Print Text Size a a a

Kleinfeldt's expertise in rack load testing of warehouse or storage facilities begins at the design drawings. The Ministry of Labour requires that racking systems be designed and tested in accordance with current standards. Certified drawings prove that your racking system was built and installed accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. They also prove that no modifications have been made to the original design. Without them, to protect against legalities, it is your responsibility to schedule a PSHR

(See our page at INSERT LINK).

An engineer's report must be maintained in your records.
Many warehouse owners are unaware of the new CSA Standard A344.2 and CSA User Guide A344.1, which detail the precautions that must be taken to protect workers. Using the excuse that the racks pre-existed your takeover of the company does not protect you. Although a standard never existed before, it does now, and Kleinfeldt can ensure that your warehouse meets compliance.

During Rack Load Testing, Kleinfeldt inspects to ensure that warehouse fixtures:

  • are appropriate for intended use
  • are appropriately installed, relocated or reconfigured
  • are safe and secure

Following inspection, Kleinfeldt's rack load specialists draw up a report detailing their findings, augmented by a maintenance plan that can be used by warehouse personnel to ensure regular racking inspections and repair. Kleinfeldt also provides rack load training to your personnel if desired.

Should an accident occur, Kleinfeldt can:

  • Inspect the rack damage
  • Provide relocation/reconfiguration quotations
  • Prepare damage repair/replacement assessments
  • Perform Pre-Start Health and Safety (PHSR) inspections per regulatory requirements

Kleinfeldt Rack Load Testing corrects any deficiencies, bringing your warehouse racking up to the current Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI) specification for design, testing and utilization of industrial storage racks. Ministry of Labour enforcement has commenced. Don't wait for an accident or an inspection (fines have been set in the amount of $240,000) to occur at your facility. Call Kleinfeldt today.
