Indoor Air Quality

Kleinfeldt’s IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) investigations are your first line of defence when responding to air quality complaints. Our highly experienced technicians, trained regularly in the field of current OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety) regulations, look at all potential sources impacting the quality of indoor air.

At Kleinfeldt, we take the long view first, stepping back to inspect your ventilation and heating equipment.

We then test for:

  • Airborne contaminants
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Gases, vapors, dust
  • Microbial contamination (i.e. moulds and bacteria)
  • Asbestos fibers
  • Surface and building water contaminants (e.g. Legionella)

From the findings, after careful analysis, and taking into account the dictates of the OHSA, Kleinfeldt prepares an IAQ Report, detailing the contaminants, the procedures required to eradicate them, and the associated cost of each recommended procedure. We are also fully capable of undertaking all recommendations. This third-party clean-up, which in itself is rigorously documented, can be invaluable should legal action ever result from a complaint. A Kleinfeldt IAQ becomes your independent record, free of any conflict-of-interest accusations (that may arise if you attempt to clean up the air quality of your own site), of the actions taken to eradicate your site of indoor air contaminants. The report also details our post-removal QC process, where IAQ investigations are repeated to ensure the success of contaminant removal operations.
