RMCAO Certification

RMCAO—the Ready Mixed Concrete Association of Ontario— in consultation with the Ontario Ministry of Environment—now offers an 'Eco Certified Concrete Facility' program similar to LEED. The program has five categories with seven sections that detail the minimum number of points in each category that a concrete facility must obtain to become RMCAO certified.

The program details environmental procedures and techniques in the following five categories:

  • Sustainable sites
  • Water efficiency
  • Materials and resources
  • Energy and atmosphere
  • Innovation and design

To achieve RMCAO certification, an independent third-party engineering firm must audit your facility before certification is approved.

Kleinfeldt offers RMCAO-certified engineers to assess your concrete facility's compliance in accordance with environmental requirements such as recycling, water use, waste chemical management, energy conservation and materials reduction. Futuristically, there is every sign that owners, architects and contractors will demand Eco Certified concrete. The concern over environmental protection and sustainment is increasing in every sector. Even homebuilders are getting in on the action.

Kleinfeldt, during RMCAO certification, procures the program benefits for your organization:

  • Responsible materials procurement
  • Reduction of liability and risk
  • Assistance with LEED project requirements

Our RMCAO engineers will ensure your facility's compliance to CSA A23 and A283 procedures, and get you RMCAO-certified quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
