Owners, investors and property managers frequently require sound technical advice regarding roof management, roof condition and roof replacement. A roof represents a large portion of your building's capital assets and it can represent a major replacement expense. This expense may often be avoidable if effective, regularly-scheduled maintenance is carried out.

Kleinfeldt conducts comprehensive Roof Condition Assessments on buildings of all types including commercial, institutional, industrial and multi-unit residential and can provide investigative consulting and quality observations related to new or existing roofs. Kleinfeldt can also demonstrate engineering solutions to roofing concerns that protect your building investment, and add value to your ROI.

Kleinfeldt's roofing expertise encompasses Low Sloped and Steep Slope Roofing in all of the following categories:

  • Low Sloped Roofing:
    • Built Up Roofing :(BUR)
    • Modified Bitumen Roofing
    • Single-Ply Rubber Roofing Membrane :
      ( EPDM )
    • Polyvinyl Chloride: (PVC)
    • Thermoplastic single-ply (TPO)
    • Rubberized Asphalt
  • Steep Slope Roofing:
    • Metal
    • Copper
    • Slate
    • Wood Shingles/Shakes
    • Asphalt

The most accurate and economic method undertaken to locate subsurface moisture on roofs is thermographic infrared technology. This non-destructive method of scanning can be supplemented with a more traditional approach, such as electrical capacitance can accurately locate pockets of moisture trapped under the roof's surface. When problem areas are detected early enough, roof restoration and maintenance procedures can be undertaken to avoid costly roof replacement and result in years of extended service.

Kleinfeldt also has considerable expertise in rooftop parking and pedestrian areas which, can degrade prematurely if designed or constructed incorrectly.
